Scientific visits initiative - second session

Introduction

 

The transfer of knowledge and scientific cooperation with prestigious international scientific institutions are considered tools for scientific progress and the development of research and innovation. Scientific cooperation with advanced scientific bodies is considered one of the ways to develop human resources and build scientific relations with distinguished and prestigious international scientific institutions, which is consistent with the university’s strategic plans and the state’s directions in the field of research and innovation. Based on this, the Deanship of Scientific Research announces the Scientific Visits Initiative in its second phase within a series of institutional funding programs for research and development. Through this initiative, the Deanship seeks to provide the opportunity for university faculty members to visit prestigious international universities and scientific institutions with the aim of building bridges of communication, joint scientific research, knowledge exchange, and transfer of new technologies in line with the university’s research priorities in areas of research priorities.


Objectives

1-Contributing to achieving the university’s strategic goals in developing scientific research and innovation.
2-Building bridges of communication in the field of joint scientific research by visiting university faculty members to prestigious international universities and scientific institutions.
3-Strengthening scientific cooperation with professors and scientists from prestigious scientific institutions in all specializations, with a focus on modern scientific specializations, within the priorities of the institutional funding program.
4-Technology transfer and knowledge exchange.
5-Joint scientific research.


Terms and conditions

 

1-The applicant must be a Saudi faculty member at King Saud University.
2-The applicant must be distinguished academically and research-wise and have previously published at least three research papers in journals included in the Web of Science database during the past year.
3-The applicant must be working at the time of applying for the initiative
4-The applicant does not have an existing research project/projects that involve international cooperation.
5-Attach the department’s approval for the scientific visit
6- The applicant must attach a letter of approval for the visit, accompanied by the scientific program from the host university/research center.
7- The visit program must include training on modern technology, advanced analytical methods, or the transfer of modern experiences or advanced qualitative research methods in the researcher’s field of specialization.
8-The hosting university or institute must be a reputable institution and belong to one of the developed and research-distinguished countries.
9- Applying for the scientific visit must be at least two months before the specified time.
10-The applicant must submit an updated CV.
11-The duration of the scientific visit should not be less than one week (7 days).
12-The applicant must attach a comprehensive detailed report on the visit after its completion, including all achievements in accordance with the plan submitted in advance and accepted by the Deanship of Scientific Research, and attach with it evidence of the visit.
13-Submitted applications are judged by specialized scientific committees.
14-The researcher is not entitled to more than one participation during the academic year.
15- Support scientific visits according to the following:

- An amount of twenty thousand riyals for the countries of Europe, America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

- An amount of fifteen thousand riyals for the rest of the other countries.


Application of the initiative

Applications will be received by downloading the application form in “Word” format and filling it out starting Monday 10/18/1444 AH corresponding to 5/8/2023 AD.

Attach the required documents and send it to the initiative’s email IFKSUSV@KSU.EDU.SA  in order to complete the application submitted to request a research visit.
