Initiative for Supporting High-Quality and Impact in Scientific Publishing
The Research and Development Office (RDO) at the Ministry of Education, launched the High-Quality and Impact Research Initiative which aims at supporting the high quality research published in the Journals Indexed in the Web of Science. The Initiative provides substantial financial support for research projects at Saudi universities with the aim to publish in four categories within the Top 15% of the Journals indexed in the Web of Science and in line with the research priorities of the Kingdom.

Conditions:
- The Principle Investigator (PI) of the research project should be a faculty member and employed at King Saud University and must be the first author and corresponding author.
- At least 60% of the total number of researchers in the published paper must be affiliated with Saudi universities, including King Saud University.
- The published work should exclusively acknowledge the High Quality and Impact Research Initiative of Research and Development Office using the following statement:
The authors acknowledge funding from the Research and Development (R&D) Program (Research Pooling Initiative), Ministry of Education, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, (RPI-KSU ......)
Procedure and Financial Support:
- The first-payment of SAR 20,000 (twenty thousand Saudi Riyals) will be provided upon the approval of the research project.
- A maximum payment of SAR 110,000 will be provided upon publication of the research article in the Top 1% of the Journals.
- A maximum payment of SAR 70,420 will be provided upon publication of the research article in the Top 2-5% of the Journals.
- A maximum payment of SAR 50,240 will be provided upon publication of the research article in the Top 6-10% of the Journals.
- A maximum payment of SAR 30 000 will be provided upon publication of the research article in the Top 11-15% of the Journals.
- All payments provided are adhere to the above conditions and recorded as debt for the PI which needs the clearance.
